Learn the basics of weaving in this beginner level class. We will use a simple frame loom to make an artistic wall hanging while exploring plain weave as well as rya fringe, soumak, and clasped weft weaving techniques. Different materials such as yarn, roving, thread, ribbon, and fabric will be used. The loom and tools are yours to keep so you can weave more on your own!
Course fee covers 2 hours of instruction and materials kit (Hilos frame loom kit, warping thread, weaving tools, and materials for weaving). Students are encouraged to bring their own yarn and materials for weaving if desired - interesting textures, art yarns, fabric scraps, even paper or plant material can be used!
Cancellation policy: Full refund will be granted if shop is notified of cancellation at least 72 hours (3 days) prior to the workshop time. A 50% refund will be granted if shop is notified of cancellation in the 72 hours prior to the workshop time. No refunds will be granted for no call/no show students.
