yelley’s Sock School: My First Knit Socks - Two Class Series

Learn to knit socks in this intermediate knitting class. Students will learn sock structure and anatomy and knit a DK weight sock from the cuff down on double pointed needles. 

Students must already be comfortable with casting on, basic knit and purl stitches. Experience with double pointed needles is helpful but not required for this class. New skills learned in this class include knitting with double pointed needles, picking up stitches, decreasing stitches, and grafting (Kitchener stitch). 

Class Dates: This class meets for two sessions, three hours each. The course fee covers both sessions and students should ensure attendance at both sessions, partial refunds for missed sessions are not permitted for this class.

  • Sunday September 14, 3pm to 6pm

  • Sunday October 8, 3pm to 6pm

Materials: Course fee covers 6 hours of instruction. Materials are not included and should be purchased and prepared prior to the start of class. Students will need 100g of DK weight superwash wool or wool synthetic blend yarn, set of 5 double pointed size US 3/3.25mm knitting needles, locking stitch markers, ruler or measuring tape, and a darning needle. Materials are available for purchase at Coven of Stitches or students may bring materials purchased elsewhere.

Cancellation policy: Full refund will be granted if shop is notified of cancellation at least 72 hours (3 days) prior to the first class time.  A 50% refund will be granted if shop is notified of cancellation in the 72 hours prior to the first class time.
